Girls Rock Detroit Final 2017 Showcase

1265 Griswold St

In partnership with Detroit Institute for Music Education, Girls Rock Detroit is proud to present our second 2017 camp showcase, featuring 6 bands of young women ages 8-15, who have created an unforgettable, original performance in just 5 days!

Join us Saturday, August 26th, 1 pm at the underground at DIME, to witness the second 2017 Girls Rock Detroit showcase.

Girls Rock Detroit, founded in 2014 by Rosalind Hartigan, Melissa Coppola, and Willa Adamo, is a community organization dedicated to fostering creative expression, positive self-esteem, and community awareness FOR girls, women, and gender nonconforming and transgender people through music education and performance.

By encouraging creativity, confidence, and collaboration in a supportive environment, we strive to empower campers to challenge preconceived notions of what they can do and what they can become, and be engaged members of our communities.

We believe it is crucial that all young people have access to equipment and instruction regardless of their socio-economic background, religion, race, gender identity, sexuality or ethnicity.
