The Huntington Woods Peace, Citizenship & Education Project is planning a Celebration of International Peace Day on Saturday, September 21st at The Swords into Plowshares Gallery. It will take place from 11:00am to 2pm and it is called The Possibility of Peace – A Detroit Celebration of International Peace Day.

We would love to have your participation. Please join us and represent your group by bringing a reading, a poem or a song to inspire peace. At 12 noon we will join in the Minute of Silence/Moment of Peace which is happening in each time zone, resulting in a “Peace Wave” around the world. This will be followed by further poetry readings and a ukulele sing-a-long. We will then march to Campus Martius and back or gather at the corner of Adams and Woodward to pass out literature or handouts to those passing by while displaying our peace signs
