**A Discovering Technology & Housing Community Fair**
**Come learn how to use technology to find housing in Detroit!**

Detroit Digital Justice Coalition announces the next
DISCOvering TECHnology, “DISCO TECH.”
Community Workshops on Housing Information and Technology.
Free parking in the lot on Elizabeth St. at Woodward Ave.
The event is free, open to all ages and is wheelchair accessible.
Join the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition for a special “Disco Tech” – a
mobile, multimedia workshop – highlighting housing information and
technology for all area residents. The event is free and all ages are
welcome.
The Disco Tech runs from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at Michigan Welfare Rights
Organization, a member of the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition (DDJC).
Residents of the community can learn more about online housing
resources, alongside community group activities to assist low income
families secure housing. DDJC volunteers will have computers available to
demonstrate useful websites and help people of all ages to increase their
computer skills and knowledge.
At the Disco Tech, participants will engage in interactive learning and have
fun, especially with beats provided by DJ, “Mother Cyborg” and a special
performance by local MC and poet Will See.
Participants with all levels of computer skills are invited. DDJC volunteers
will assist with everything from setting up basic email accounts to exploring
online surveillance technology.
The Detroit Digital Justice Coalition is comprised of local organizations
committed to the digital empowerment all people regardless of age, gender,
culture, religion, citizenship, or wealth with free and universal access to
digital media. DDJC shares and promotes technology tools in communities
that leverage communication, knowledge growth, problem solving skills and
creative production.
The Detroit Digital Justice Coalition is endorsed by Allied Media Projects,
Michigan Welfare Rights Organization, Detroit Sierra Club, Hannan House
Sound Studio, 5E Gallery, East Michigan Environmental Action Council,
the 1440 Collective, the Reading Corner @ Kemeny, the Hush House, the
Open Technology Initiative, Real Media, Urban Neighborhoods Initiative
and Work Department. Kemeny Recreation Center is a City of Detroit,
Recreation Department facility under the direction of Mr. Kent Gresham,
supervisor.
