Unlike European authorities, trans-boundary cooperation between Canada & the USA has been overlooked when it comes to the matter of emergency preparedness in the event of a major radiological accident. We invite you to an international panel discussion of gaps in preparedness between the two countries with regard to the unequal & unfair delivery of KI (potassium iodide), inadequate funding to oversee emergency response & the failure to consider impacts from radionuclides in the Great Lakes by both Canadian & US authorities. Americans & Canadians deserve equal & adequate protection in the event of an accident!

We will host Jeff Cohen (film producer, former director of Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, and currently the founding director of the Park Center for Independent Media and endowed chair/associate professor of journalism at Ithaca College). He will be presenting his new film (the Detroit premiere) called All Governments Lie: Truth, Deception, and the Spirit of I.F. Stone.
Students attend for free; a voluntary donation of $5 is requested from non-students; proceeds will go to the two co-sponsoring associations, Huntington Woods Peace Group and Progressive Arts (who have worked to bring Jeff Cohen and his film to our campus).
