From local ballot initiatives on issues like tranist and mental health funding to statewide campaign on gerrymandering or worker rights, ballot campaigns are an important tool for social change. What are the basic techniques to plan, carry out, and win when you take an issue directly to the voters? Jeff Irwin is a former Michigan State Representative and County Commissioner. He has worked on the local level on issues such as the 2014 transit millage and currently serves as political director for the statewide ballot campaing the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol.* Cost: Suggested donation $10 members, $20 non-members.
