Tickets: $65 per person (includes dinner) At Cobo Hall prior to the March on Detroit on June 23, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. addressed over 25,000 Detroit organizers and leaders, stating: "I can assure you that what has been done here today will serve as a source of inspiration for all the freedom-loving people of this nation." At its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Banquet, MOSES rekindles the spirit of Dr. King's message to the people of Detroit. We come together with the common goal of strengthening our metropolitan region through robust civic participation. Each year, approximately 500 metro Detroit “movers and shakers” attend MOSES’ MLK Day Banquet. Katherine McFate, President and CEO of the Center for Effective Government will deliver our keynote address this year. The event includes presentations as well as dinner and entertainment. We will: * Celebrate our successes for the past year * Recommit ourselves to our work for the upcoming year * Honor individuals, congregations and neighborhood groups that have shown an exceptional commitment to social justice in metro Detroit
