Since Trump’s inauguration as president there has been a continuous attack on immigrants and immigration policy in the United States. This is of great concern to our group. Melanie Goldberg is a practicing immigration attorney working first hand on these issues every day. Melanie will give us a picture of the current situation and legal threats for immigrants living in our midst and caught in the cross hairs of Trump’s attack on immigration policy. She will discuss DACA, the Wall, chain migration, incarceration and more. This will be eye opening and is one of the important human rights issues of our day. Melanie Goldberg has been practicing immigration law in the Detroit area for more than 20 years. Currently, she is legal defense at Justice for our Neighbors Southeastern MI. She chairs the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Michigan chapter and enjoys educating on immigration issues by presenting to community groups. A New York Law School graduate, Goldberg is admitted to practice in Michigan and New York.
